From 1.1.0 on, Connector/C++ can optionally use run-time dynamic linking to access the MySQL Client Library (AKA libmysql). If you make use of this new feature, it will not only change the application binary interface (ABI) but also has some impact on your client applications. The new expert setting is not enabled by default. By default, you will not notice any differences.

The next version of MySQL Connector/C++ will be numbered 1.1.0. 1.1.0 marks the successful end of the first year of development. The driver finally offers everything needed by its two "internal customers". Also, feedback from MySQL Workbench and Connector/OpenOffice.org and the bug inflow demonstrated the maturity that has been reached making it a logical step to bump up the version number.

The headline says it is specifically for OEM users. I don’t agree. The webinar is a good overview presentation on the product suitable for any MySQL developer developing applications with C++ .

The release party offers a chance to come together with other php enthusiasts and enjoy that php is alive and kicking. And of course people in favour of a decent barbecue, together with some beer and other drinks are invited.

The happening will take place at Waldwirtschaft beer garden, at any weather.
We will meet at 19:00 o’clock - open end.

The location is famous for its huge beer garden (2500 available seats, a children’s playground) and its typical Bavarian but also international food. On sunny weather you even may enjoy live-music and listen to the sounds of Jazz, Blues, Swing or Dixi.

The PHP BBQ tour 2009 is over. Some 145 people came to 7 meetings held in 7 different citties in Germany. The basic idea of having a series of barbecues, shortly before midsummer, to get together and having fun at a very relaxed atmosphere has worked out well.

People got connected. Some attendees came to the PHP user group meetings, who have never been seen at a regular meeting before. Some even travelled 1.5 hours per way to get to the events. Members of the user group Köln/Bonn took the opportunity to visit their friends in Dortmund and members of the user group Stuttgart have travelled to Karlsruhe for the first time.

The PHP BBQ Tour is almost over. There is one chance left for you to come to a BBQ and to meet Giuseppe Maxia, the Datacharmer and leader of the MySQL Community team. The closing meeting will be held today in Kiel at the restaurant (not in the garden, no real BBQ, just like in Munich!) of the Forstbaumschule at 16:00 CEST. Its a little change in the location but no change in time.

Change for Kiel (today): due to rainy weather conditions we meet at the Forstbaumschule restaurant not in the garden, no BBQ but a meeting, just like in Munich. Same time (16:00 CEST), almost the same place as before the change. Seats have been reserved, ask for Wendel/PHP.
